Your Advocate
In the Appraisal

Your Expert Representative
in the Appraisal Process

An Appraiser is a certified professional appointed to represent one side in a formal insurance appraisal. When your insurance company disputes the value of your loss, you have the right to demand appraisal β€” and you need a qualified expert in your corner to document, argue, and fight for the full value of your damages.

We Build Your Case from Scratch
We conduct a thorough independent inspection, document all damage with photos and measurements, and prepare a complete, detailed estimate using Xactimate β€” the industry standard.
We Defend Your Position
We present and defend your estimate before the umpire. Our years of experience in property claims means we know exactly what arguments work β€” and what the insurance company's appraiser will try to minimize.
Faster Than Litigation
The appraisal process is far faster and less expensive than going to court. With the right appraiser on your side, you can get a binding resolution in weeks instead of years.
Contingency-Based Fees
Like our PA services, our appraiser fees are contingency-based β€” we only get paid if you recover more. No upfront costs, no financial risk for you.

How We Fight for Your
Full Claim Value

1
Free Consultation & Review
We review your policy, the insurer's offer, and the facts of your loss to determine whether demanding appraisal is the right move. This consultation is completely free.
2
Appraisal Is Formally Demanded
We help you formally invoke the appraisal clause in your insurance policy β€” putting the insurance company on notice that you're serious about recovering the full value of your loss.
3
Full Inspection & Documentation
We conduct a thorough, independent inspection of your property. Every line of damage is documented with photos, measurements, moisture readings, and professional notes.
4
Detailed Estimate Prepared
We build a comprehensive, line-by-line estimate using Xactimate. This becomes your official position in the appraisal β€” a fully defensible document built to maximize your recovery.
5
Umpire Process & Binding Award
We present your position before the jointly-selected umpire alongside the insurance company's appraiser. The umpire issues a binding award β€” and you get paid the fair amount you deserve.

Appraiser Services:
Your Questions Answered.

What is the difference between an Appraiser and an Umpire? +
An appraiser represents one party in the appraisal process β€” either the policyholder or the insurer. An umpire is the neutral third party who steps in when the two appraisers disagree. Kingwell can serve in either role, but never both on the same claim.
When should I demand appraisal? +
You should consider demanding appraisal when your insurance company's estimate for your loss is significantly lower than what it will actually cost to repair or replace your damaged property. It's also a strong option when your claim has been denied and you believe coverage applies.
Do I need an attorney to go through the appraisal process? +
Not necessarily. The appraisal process is separate from litigation and is designed to resolve disputes outside of court. With an experienced appraiser on your side, you can achieve a binding resolution without needing to hire an attorney β€” though we can coordinate with legal counsel if needed.
How does your fee work for appraiser services? +
Our appraiser services are typically contingency-based. We earn a percentage of the additional amount recovered above the insurer's original offer. If we don't improve your recovery, you owe us nothing. We'll discuss the specific fee structure during your free consultation.
Can the insurance company reject the appraisal result? +
Once an appraisal award is issued with agreement by the umpire and at least one appraiser, it is binding under Florida law. The insurance company is legally obligated to pay the awarded amount. This is one of the most powerful tools available to policyholders.
How is Kingwell's appraiser service different from a Public Adjuster? +
A Public Adjuster manages the full claim process from the start β€” filing, documenting, negotiating directly with the insurance company. An appraiser specifically represents you within the formal appraisal process when a dispute has already reached an impasse. Kingwell is certified in both roles, so we can advise which approach is right for your situation.
